Carl Hang [OYE Records / Deck 2 Deck]
DJ - Travels from Berlin, GERCarl Hang is a DJ, producer and turntablist born & raised in Berlin, whose cross-genre approach has become a defining part of his sound. Moving with instinct rather than rules, he blends Disco, Electro, Funk, House, Hip hop, Ghettotech, Punk and flashes of Rock into sets that feel energetic, physical and deliberately unpredictable. What ties it all together is his sense of rhythm and a refusal to stay inside one lane.
Shaped by a long-standing connection to hip hop and scratching, Carl brings a distinct musicality to everything he does. As one half of Hang & Otto, he released several hip hop projects, followed by G-Funk explorations with Wall Ra under the name Wall Ra & CeeCee.
These projects shaped the foundation of his sound: rhythm-first, playful in technique, and grounded in musical storytelling rather than fixed genre logic.
His solo work expands this world further - from the Flying Crossfader EP to remix projects such as his rework of Borna Saye’s KULTUR EDIT. Across these releases, Carl’s production stays closely linked to his DJ identity: physical grooves, sharp movement, and a clear sense of timing that comes from working with records rather than presets.
Carl’s turntablism remains central to his identity. His scratching can be heard in collaborations with artists and collectives including Sonos Cliq, Tiefbasskommando, Pavelo & Schnell, DJ Swagger and SQF2000 - each one highlighting his precision, playfulness and hands-on approach.
Beyond the studio and the booth, he curates The Finest, a bi-monthly night at Paloma that reflects his view on club culture: open, eclectic, community-driven and grounded in musical storytelling. It’s a space where different genres meet without friction - the same mindset that defines his work as a DJ and producer.
Blending technique, curiosity and a wide-open ear, Carl Hang stands at the intersection of tradition
and experimentation. Whether behind the decks or creating new material, his focus remains simple:
keep the energy high, keep the floor moving, and keep the sound evolving.
